LTTE Front Defence Line Falls in Muhamalai and Nagarkovil

Sri Lanka army launched a surprise attack on LTTE front defence line in Muhamalai and Nagarkovil this morning(30 th January, 2008). An army group of about 100 soldiers were involved in this attack and they were able to overun the LTTE front defence line around 12.45 am destroying about 35 LTTE underground bunkers and killing more than 10 LTTE cadres .
A RPG launcher, 60mm mortar bomb and a stock of ammo were recovered at the search operations.

Another Claymore Attack on a Army Bus at Buttala-Katharagama Road

Another claymore explosion has been taken place at Buttala-Katharagama road on a soldier carrying bus. Several soldiers has been injured by this incident. Those who were injured from this incident were rushed to Hambanthota hospital
Schools belongs to Uva province has been closed for three days until required security mesures are taken.
