MDMK Leader Vaiko Arrested by Indian Police

Leader of MDMK party of India, V. Gopalsamy also known as Vaiko has been arrested while he was on a protest near central government office in Chennai. Another dozens of protesters have also been arrested along with Vaiko. Vaiko is known for supporting tamil tigers whic is a terrorist group fighting for a separate land in the northern part of Sri Lanka.

As the government forces has now entered LTTE heartland, LTTE is doing their best to supend the government troops advancing further.

A Controversial Cheer At Sri Lanka-India Cricket Match in Australia

The presence of some spectators at the Sri Lanka India cricket matct of controversy compelling officials to remove politically slanted placards supportive of the LTTE carried by these spectators, an Australian newspaper reported yesterday.

It said before the dayh at the Manuka Oval earlier this week provoked a certain amoun's play at least 200 fans wearing red T-shirts with the words 'Voice of Tamils' and 'Where is the Humanity', stood outside the gates accompanied by drummers, dancers and whistles. Ground officials, claiming to be acting on behalf of Cricket Australia, prevented two members of the group from entering the grounds and they were advised not to display Tamil flags.

LTTE Bomb at Dambulla-Sri Lanka Targets Innocent Civilians Going for Religious Observances [Updated]

Suspected powerful LTTE claymore bomb has been exploded near Dambulla public bus stand targeting a group of innocent civilians who are going for lotus flower sermons. 20 civilians have died from this incident where 14 of them are women. More than 50 have been inured and some of them are in a critical situation. Patients have already been transferred to Dambulla Kandy and Anutadhapura hospitals.

Bus has started it's journey from Kandy at about 5.15 am and were plying to Anuradhapura. Bomb blast has taken place at around 7.05 am near Dambulla hospital. Defence spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara told most of tis civilians were going for a Buddhist observances called "Nelum mal poojawa"- a religious ceremony which serve lotus flowers to Lord Buddha as a respectation.
LTTE, a group of Tamils who are fighting for a separate land are launching terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka since 1983. However LTTE is blacklisted as a terrorist organisation all over the world and proved that they have direct connections with Al-Quida.

LTTE Front Defence Line Falls in Muhamalai and Nagarkovil

Sri Lanka army launched a surprise attack on LTTE front defence line in Muhamalai and Nagarkovil this morning(30 th January, 2008). An army group of about 100 soldiers were involved in this attack and they were able to overun the LTTE front defence line around 12.45 am destroying about 35 LTTE underground bunkers and killing more than 10 LTTE cadres .
A RPG launcher, 60mm mortar bomb and a stock of ammo were recovered at the search operations.

Tamil Tigers are among the Most Dangerous and Deadly Extremists in the World - FBI

US top intelligence agency FBI recently announced that LTTE is the most deadly and extremist terrorist organisation in the world. FBI has stated that LTTE is even more dangerous than Al-Qaeda, HAMAS or Hezbollah. They have also requested from the public to be on alert about various charity organisations which will be used to raise funds for terrorist organizations.
